This tray can only be used in conjunction with the Max Research Resin Developer Build Platform, (aka Crown Kit Build Platform) and is compatible will all Max 3D printers. Keep in mind that this is for the tray only. You need the Developer kit to get the build platform that is required for this tray.
The benefits of this tray for resin developers is because the Asiga machines are designed to be ultimately configurable. Some specialty materials are expensive to develop and this tray in conjunction with the Research Resin Developer Kit (aka Asiga Crown Kit) allows you to use a small amount of your resin and quickly test it without wasting so much of your base materials to fill a full build tray.
This tray was developed for the dental industry to print chair side crown replacements while the customer was still sitting in the chair. It's great for that for sure but I have a unique blend of customers that are not dental customers. If you are from the dental industry, welcome...
